L is for Limerick #NaPoWriMo2021 – Day 4

There once was a boat made in Éire,

In the boatyard of a fine city, there;

a craft of two knots,

that was covered in spots,

like a slow boat with Chinese Malaria.

Day 3 – 11 Pockets in my Coat – #NaPoWriMo2021

11 pockets in my coat;

and the contents,

here,

I note:

a mobile phone, a painted stone,

a face mask (need you ask)

and that is all –

three things in my pockets.

I check the time,

11 o’clock

it’s coffee time;

and, this, is the ending

of my rhyme.

Day 2 – #NaPoWriMo2021

A proper poem

is all you ask,

from me.

For me,

that is no easy task;

I’ll have to get my apse in gear,

and fine-tune my words,

or failure lies ahead, I fear.

Words that rhyme

(some of the time)

and lines that flow

like a river running

to and fro;

are all you need;

so how about the above?

Did I succeed?

Day 1 #NaPoWriMo2021

Day 1.

The Beginning.

Where it starts.

Where it might all finish.

False starts expected;

weak openings,

poor structure,

faint-hearted rhyme scheme;

less a dream,

more a night-

watchman snoozing.

Oh, well,

there is

always

tomorrow,

when all will be

or not.
