Adopt, adapt, become adept, (don’t forget adipt and adupt – they do exist)

Two cats walked into my house,

nobody claimed them,

nobody knew where they came from,

and they were like two new saucers –

or two jacket potatoes –

(they weren’t chipped!).

.

So, I decided to adopt them,

adapt to their ways and needs;

and, soon, I became adept with them.

Their names? Well, I called them…

yes, I did –

and they are Dip and Dup for short.
