Poem for the brokenhearted – Revisited

This is a poem for the brokenhearted;

I know you really wanted a song,

but singing at a time like this,

well, I think it’s wrong –

and, anyway, I can’t sing for toffees,

and I can’t sing for sweets

I can’t sing for pennies

or I’d busk on these clean streets;

but, a poem. for you,

that, I can do.

So, here it is.

It’s short

(you’ll be pleased to know)

and to the point:

One day

you’ll look back

and vaguely smile;

it may still take a while

to get there;

but, get there you will.
