Today I saw a dragonfly

Today I saw a dragonfly;

back and forth it went –

I don’t know why.

.

Up and down the lane

I was walking along;

a shimmering soul,

of glorious flight,

I wished it, ‘Good day!’

For I am nothing

if not polite.
