And then there was a ladybug

And then there was a ladybug –

or ladybird, if you prefer –

who walked upon my very arm,

across my acreage of hair;

I had to pop her on a leaf,

where another ladybug stood,

I thought they’d hit it off,

reach an understanding, good;

but, one or ‘tother gave a head-but,

and one did fall from grace,

onto another leaf,

to find another place.
