Seagulls flocking,
mocking the affected;
crows calling out for more,
“Encore, encore!”
Sheep chasing sleep
across mossy meadows;
ducks waddling past,
looking to the present,
unaware of the future,
uncaring of the past;
a dog yawns lethargically
in a farmyard,
he’s heard the news,
so gives his views
in the pretence of a bark.
Cars driven to
and fro,
with people
who just have to go
and return,
who cannot rest
when isolated from the best –
and worse is yet to come?
