The Poeting Process

The Poeting Process

The Poeting Process

is an onerous thing;

and what novelty

can you

to the table

bring?

You don’t want to be remembered

for the tedium

of te-dum te-de-dum

it’s already been Donne

and by Donne

I mean done;

and it’s certainly not Dombey and Son;

and any poetry battle lost

is not a poetry battle won;

in fact, the use of tact

and subtle rhyme schemes

and spelling rhythm correctly

Is to be desired

dreckly,

as any Cornish pasty

will tell you;

and for pasty

read poet

(I point that out,

even though I know that

you know it).

The Poeting Process

is a (w)on(d)erous thing;

and what can you

to the table bring?
