Dreaming of Midday.

A midday poem

11:57 a.m.

It’s nearly midday

And I just can’t wait

I have to write a poem

I can’t hesitate.

I’ll do it now

Before the knoll

Of midday’s moment

Is heard to me.

I’ll write the words

And catch the feelings

That exemplify the time.

I’ll write about how it was awaiting the arrival

Of a ‘hands up’ second;

And hope that it’s as good as I’ve reckoned it can be.

I shall put it all down

As the clock strikes twelve.

12:00 midday

“It’s midday!”

And then it was gone

Just like before.

So, I put these words on a shelf

And await midday once more.

12:02 p.m.
