Poetry Submissions Advice

Does the post below cover it all? Or have I missed things that you think are important? G:)

“Read them out loud; record yourself and listen back; get a poetic friend (or friends) to read them; check punctuation and spelling; check competition rules carefully. Try and submit accessible poems that (maybe) fit the type of poem that the competition holders are known for.

Also check your tenses; don’t use excessively long (or long-winded) sentences.

If more than one poem is submitted try to show your voice, your humour, your love for the words.

And be prepared to spend quite a time before submitting to get them the best you can.
