‘When’ not ‘If’.

‘When’ not ‘If’
When the oyster is your world,

And the flag you fly is left unfurled;

When you are stuck for rhymes,

And struggle with your nineteen table times;

When what is real

Is not what you feel,

And what is left

Is only orange peel;

Then, my son,

And only then,

Will you be a poetry man.
