The Unwritten Poem’s Lament To His Poet.

The Unwritten Poem’s Lament To His Poet.
Why didn’t you write me?
Didn’t you care?
Of my desire

Not to be ‘unwritten’

Weren’t you aware?
And of my desire

To be ‘written’

Were you unaware?
So, here I am

With scarce a thought

Spent upon my creation

I came to nought.
You wrote all those ‘other’ poems

With their silliness of rhyme

‘Not’ to write me

Would be so much a crime.

In fact

You could use some tact

And publish

What before you lacked…
Me.

  1. Aha! Liked that. I wonder what mine would have to tell me.
