#NaPoWriMo – Day 20: Te dum te dum poem

image.jpeg

Tedium Poem (based upon Hamlet: The Musical)

I was, in fact, in need of tact
To be, or not, was all you got
And in the end, we died, depend
On that. A heap of us, my friend
And all was lost, we count the cost
Of all we did, from love we hid
We ne’er did care enough, you see
For Oph went mad, I kill’d her dad
And in the end her bro kill’d me.

NB ‘The rest is silence’ I used the basic Iambic construction here where the two parts of a foot are in the first part unstressed and then in the second stressed – as in ‘te-DUM!’ If this makes sense, marvellous – it is tres early in old Blighty. Thank you for listening – G:)
