At the Telephone Exchange One Day

I went to the telephone exchange the other day
They gave me a pen and a piece of paper
I do miss my telephone
And I apologise for not answering your calls
That’s ‘if’ you called
But, I ‘am’ meaning to write you a letter
I have twenty-six to choose from
Which is confusing
Why are there so many
I could cope if there were only three
Then, it would be simple
Or, at least, simpler

Iggle-piggle-pop
Where shall I stop?
This one?
That one?
Or the other one?

Would be my little rhyme
To help me pass
The day of time
While I decided

Anyway the letter’s three letters are:

probably
I, O and U
I suppose that
Will have to do.
